Magnitude 4.0 quake jolts Davao Occidental

A magnitude 4.0 earthquake jolted Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental on the morning of Wednesday, September 11, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) confirmed.

In a bulletin issued by PHIVOLCS,  the quake which was tectonic in origin struck around 2:46 AM at 18 kilometers southeast of Jose Abad Santos. It had a 30-kilometer depth of focus.

The tremor was also felt at various intensities in the following areas:

III – Alabel, Sarangani

II – General Santos City

I – Tupi, South Cotabato; Kiamba, Sarangani

Phivolcs noted that there are no aftershocks and significant damage expected.
