A broadcaster with a heart for public service – this is what best describes Mae Binauhan. DZRH gives her the moniker “Wonderwoman” because there is nothing she cannot do to serve her fellowmen. As the head of Operation Tulong team, she devotes herself to public service activities such as medical and dental missions and feeding programs to contribute for the betterment of the lives of Filipinos. She is indeed a superhero because of her persistent energy and passion for volunteerism.
Mae obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila. She ventured into the world of media when she started to work at DWIZ a few months before her graduation. As one of our station’s senior reporters and anchors, Mae was hired by DZRH in 1990. Like any aspiring media practitioner, she started her media career as news writer and eventually as a reporter. It was in 2007 when she was given the task to take charge of DZRH Operation Tulong program and its volunteers. A year after, the program was awarded as the Best Public Service Program in Radio by the KBP Golden Dove Awards. Mae was also nominated as the Best Public Service Program Host on the same year.
Mae anchors Operation Tulong at weekdays, from 3:30 to 4 in the afternoon, with Sonny “Actionman” Casulla as her public service center host. She also tandems with Regi Espiritu at weeknights, from 9 to 9:30, for RH Balita Agad. Right after that, Sonny Casulla co-anchors her in Operation Tulong Night Edition, 9:30 to 11 in the evening. At Sundays, she anchors Operation Tulong from 10:30 to 12 midnight.
