LPA to bring moderate rains in Visayas, Mindanao


The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), said that there is no chance for the low pressure area (LPA) to become a typhoon, which was spotted 30 km south west of Catbalogan, Samar.

The LPA is expected to bring moderate to heavy rains in Eastern Visayas and Northern Mindanao on Tuesday that may result to flashfloods and landslides.

PAGASA warned residents in Surigao Del Norte and Dinagat Island to remain alert for possible flood and landslides caused by heavy rains, including Eastern Samar, Leyte, Southern Leyte and Biliran.

Meanwhile, easterlies will affect the eastern part of Luzon and thr Visayas, as well as Bicol Region to experience light to moderate rains while the remaining parts of the country will have isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
