House Speaker Pantaleon ‘Bebot’ Alvarez revealed the 40 common legislative agendas of Congress during the opening of the 2nd Regular Session of the 17th Congress on Monday, July 24.
During the resumption of the session of the House of Representatives, Alvarez said that Congress will prioritize the Bangsamoro Basic Law Draft Bill, Federal System Bill, and increasing the strength of the Anti-money Laundering Law.
The House Speaker asked that his fellow lawmakers to unite and assist in the reorganization of the bureaucracy.
The Representative of the 1st District of Davao Del Norte insist that he wishes that the accomplishments of the Congressmen will be remembered by the youth and the upcoming generations.
The congressmen took pride that the Lower House was able to complete the quorum, based on the framework of the Congress, during the previous 97 days of session.
House Speaker Alvarez further added that the Congress still has many tasks for the next five years of the Duterte Administration.
“Let us temper our joys with a sovereign thought that we still have plenty of challenges left to face.” Alvarez said during his speech. “There are remaining items in the common legislative agenda of the House and the Senate. There is also the Presidential Legislative Agenda and, of course, we all have advocacies we hold close to our hearts.”
