Lorenzana clarifies issue on US-PHL joint military exercises

President Rodrigo Duterte was just misinformed that allegedly the joint military exercises between the US and the Philippines does not serve anything for the Philippine troops.

Defense Sec. Delfin Lorenzana made the clarification amid his admission that the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Department of National Defense failed to provide the right information to the President.

Lorenzana said that they will create a way for the President to fully understand all the details and the benefits that the said exercises will provide the Philippine troops.

Based on the gathered detailed of the officials at the General Headquarters at the Philippine Army, the DND Secretary said that conducting the war games provide a lot of benefits for Filipino soldiers.

Filipino soldiers are being exposed to new systems, tactics and concepts in war, including joint landings, marksmanship, fire and maneuvers.

Also, they are being trained in humanitarian assistance and disaster readiness which is important because it will help in the immediate response of soldiers in times of calamities.

Because of the close military to military relations, coordination between the two countries will be immediate, just like what they did during typhoon Yolanda in Tacloban, wherein they immediately sent their ships and helicopters.

Every time there is an exercise, they also conduct joint civic action projects in areas wherein there is a need for school houses, multipurpose buildings and basketball courts.

The US troops bring in medical dental teams in far-flung areas.

A big part of the exercises which they call “Table Top Exercise” is where high-rank officials learn to create and execute plans.

  1. As we all know that the President is a leftist, socialist, communist and he is in alliance with the CPP-NPA-NDF and the Chinese Government that’s why they are all in the same page – they hate the United States of America. Mr. Duterte can go to China if he wants to, or better yet, to hell. He does not deserve to be the president of the Republic of the Philippines.
