In October, Lo was caught in a ‘fake’ passport fiasco which resulted in her temporary detainment in Paris, before arriving to Venezuela to compete for Miss Grand International 2019 in which she finished as part of Top 20.
Yet, by the help of organizers from Miss Grand International, Lo made it in time for the pageant proper as posted on her Instagram account. The beauty queen revealed that her local organizer “who handled my travel preparations, failed to equip me with the proper transit visa that may have enabled me to complete my earlier trip to this host country.”
She noted that “it wasn’t them who got me out of detention and put me safely on that plane to come back home. It was my family and other well-meaning Filipinos who did – and they are still not resting until this is over.”
Her statement was quickly denied by the Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. (BPCI), saying they immediately sought help from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
