Members of the Lower House expressed their support to the new Philippine National Police Chief.
President Benigno Aquino III has appointed Director Ricardo Marquez as new PNP Chief, taking over PNP-OIC Deputy Dir.Gen. Leonardo Espina, who’s retiring soon.
According to Antipolo Cong. Romeo Acop, it’s about time that the President assigns a permanent PNP chief, to lessen the criticisms the agency is getting because it of only having an OIC.
Acop believes that PNOY made the right choice with Marquez because the latter has sufficient experience and has a wide knowledge in taking over the PNP.
The lawmaker suggest that the new PNP chief should focus on its preparations for the 2016 national elections.
Marquez should disciplined his men so that they can erase the image of being inept, undisciplined, and corrupt in their organization.
Meanwhile, for ACT CIS Partylist Rep. Samuel Pagdilao, Marquez was the best choice for the said post. (with DZRH Leth Narciso-Abinales)
