Malacanang refused to meddle on the report of the Commission on Audit that Senator Lito Lapid is involved in the Pork Barrel scam.
In the COA report, Lapid’s more than 20 Million peso Pork Barrel was used in buying chemicals to combat Dengue in Polilio Island, Quezon Province. However, there was no incident of Dengue registered in that province.
According to Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Usec. Abigail Valte, the administration will not comment for the meantime, because the investigation of the National Bureau of Investigation on the Pork Barrel scam is still on-going.
Valte added that it’s up to the NBI if they want to include Lapid in the investigation.
Meanwhile, Senator Lito Lapid fired back saying that he’s not afraid if COA plans on questioning him regarding his use of his Pork Barrel fund.
This was “Leon Guerroro’s” reaction when the COA report came out which included his name.
In Lapid’s defense, the allocation of Pork Barrel on local government units is but normal and adheres to the Constitution under the Procurement law and the audit of COA.
Lapid is the sixth Senator who’s being questioned for their alleged illegal use of their PDAF. (with Chris Capulso)
