Presidential Spokesperson Sec. Edwin Lacierda shrugged off the latest accusation of Vice President Jejomar Binay that the Palace is allegedly behind the impeachment complaint against him.
In a text message sent to media, Sec. Lacierda said that the Vice President may have been joking around the time he mentioned such accusation.
According to Lacierda, President Benigno Aquino III is focused on running the government while Binay is already campaigning his political bid in 2016.
PNOY is busy in implementing the government’s programs and finding ways on how to improve the lives of the Filipino people.
Meanwhile, Vice President Binay continues to do things that will help him improve his image to the media.
Lacierda added that PNOY is taking the straight path while VP Binay took a u-turn.
“Ha, ha, He must be kidding. The President is governing, he is campaigning. The President seeks to improve the lives of his bosses. He is seeking to improve his image, the President is treading Daang Matuwid, VP Binay just made a U-turn.”
The Presidential Spokesman also made a swipe against the United Nationalist Alliance after the latter claimed that the Administration is protecting DILG Secretary Mar Roxas and DOTC Sec. Emilio Abaya Jr. as the two were spared by the Office of the Ombudsman in its case against key personalities involved in the anomalous MRT contract.
“UNA must be a fool to even think one can dictate on Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales.”
