The group behind the abduction of three foreigners and a Filipino woman in Samal Island, Davao Del Norte are now demanding 60 million dollars or 2.8 billion peso-ransom for their captives.
However on Wednesday, Philippine Army Brig. Gen. Alan Arrojado stressed that the government stands with its no-ransom-policy. The government troops continue to conduct the safest way in rescuing the hostages.
Prior to this, one of the hostages appealed to the Canadian Prime Minister to take care of the ransom money, in order to save all of their lives.
The United States and the Philippines have included the Abu Sayyaf Group in their blacklist.
