Iran slammed rumors of its country plans of retaliation once the United States attacks its ally Syria.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif said that the allegations only surfaced to justify the military strike.

An intelligence report said that a senior U.S. official received that Iran has plans of attacking U.S. embassies in Baghdad and Iraq once the U.S. military strikes Syria.

Instead, Zarif appealed for a peaceful solution on the three-year civil war. (Luisito Antonio Santos)
