The House of Representatives will be pressing charges against Senator Leila De Lima at the Justice Department and the Senate Ethics Committee.
Representative Reynaldo Umali, chairman of the House Committee on Justice said that they will be charging the lady senator violation of article 150 of the revise Penal Code.
Umali added that their complaint is based on the testimony of Ronnie Dayan in Congres, wherein he was allegedly ordered by De Lima to skip the Congress hearing on the issue of illegal drugs operations inside the New Bilibid Prison.
According to Dayan, De Lima told him to not attend the hearing because they will just make a mockery of the two of them.
Under article 50 of the revised Penal Code, anyone can be charged for failing to appear before a national assembly, like an investigation from Congress.
Dayan if the former driver, bodyguard and lover of De Lima, which is being tagged as the lady senator’s bagman, in-charge of receiving drug money from drug lords inside the NBP.
