The Philippine Sports Comission will be constructing a new weightlifting gym and a high-performance training facility that is expected to be finished in the next three months.
This was happily announced by Filipina weightlifting star Hidilyn Diaz in her twitter post dated January 12.
According to Diaz, she was informed by PSC executive director Sannah Frivaldo that a winning bidder was already chosen for the constrcution of the said facilities.
The 2016 Rio Olympics silver medalist further explained that the bidding happened last December 14.
On January 10, Diaz also tweeted a picture of the weightlifting gym at the Rizal Memorial Complex in Pasay, and said that she was informed by her coach that the facility didn’t change since 1990.
“Nagtataka pa ba tayo bakit hanggang ngayon wala pa tayong gold medal sa Olympics?” Diaz added on the caption of the said post that has already been shared more 1,700 times and has received more than 6,800 likes
