The Philippine government has lifted its deployment ban on Filipino workers in West Bank and Israel.
According to the Department of Foreign Affairs, the lifting of the said ban coincides with the lowering of the alert level in the mentioned areas.
However, deployment ban for Filipino workers in the Gaza strip remains and only those with existing contracts are allowed to return.
The DFA previously lowered Gaza strip and Israel to alert level 2 from its alert level 4, while the situation in West Bank was placed under alert level 1 starting September 11, 2014.
According to Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz, this is a welcome development for Filipino workers so that they work again in Israel and the West Bank.
