Senate Blue Ribbon Committee Chairperson Richard Gordon undermined the courtesy resignation of two officials of Bureau of Customs (BoC) amid the controversy involving the Php6.4 billion worth of smuggled Shabu shipment from China.
Gordon called the resignation of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service Director Neil Estrella and Customs Import Assessment Service Director Milo Maestrecampo as ‘Mickey Mouse.’
Gordon added that the two officials did not resign from their respective positions since they are still waiting if Pres. Rodrigo Duterte will accept it.
Estrella submitted his resignation last August 07 while Maestrecampo filed his next day.
Customs Broker Mark Taguba insisted that the two officials received payoffs from the shipment of Php6.4 billion worth of Shabu from China.
Malacanang remains mum on the decision of the President regarding the two officials’ resignation.
