FVR to represent PHL in China?

President Rodrigo Duterte will continue to push for bilateral talks with China after the country won in its case against China on the issue on territorial dispute at the West Philippine Sea.

During the San Beda College testimonial dinner for Duterte at Club Filipino, the President said that he plans to send former President Fidel V. Ramos to China to discuss the on-going tension between the two nations.

President Duterte insisted that war is not the solution in the territorial dispute over at the West Philippine Sea but the peace talks.

Meanwhile, the Philippines will lobby to the international community to show their support on the ruling of the international court, pushing for the right of the Philippines to the South China Sea.

The message will be delivered through different summits in the Southeast Asian Nations and European Union.

Though President Duterte will not be attending the 11th Asia-Europe meeting in Mongolia, Foreign Affairs Secretary Perfecto Yasay Jr. has been tasked to represent the country.

According to reports, Yasay will take this as an opportunity to discuss the said issue with the other nations and ask for their support.
