Four individuals, including a barangay chairman, were ambushed and killed on Wednesday, July 10, in Cotabato City, Maguindanao.
PMaj. Esmael Madin, chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Maguindanao, identified the victims as Datu Nurodin Mangandian Guiaman, his wife Alwaida, Sindatu Agao, and Basser Guiman.
Guiaman was the captain of Brgy. Tuka, Mamasapano, Maguindanao while Agao served as the treasurer of the same barangay.
Based on the police report, six motorcycle riding gunmen opened fire on the victims on-board a sedan traversing the Notre Dame Avenue in Cotabato City.
Guiaman passed away while receiving medical treatment at a hospital in Cotabato City, while the remaining victims were declared dead on arrival.
Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) recovered 40 empty bullet shells for caliber .45 and 9mm pistols from the crime scene. They also discovered two caliber .45 pistols inside the sedan, which authorities believe that the victims tried to use to retaliate.
Authorities are currently conducting investigation on the said crime.
