Filipina martial artist wins gold in London

Filipina martial artist Margarita ‘Meggie’ Ochoa won the gold medal in the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Jiu Jitsu World Tour in Copper Box Arena, London.

The 27 year-old three time jiu-jitsu world champion reigned in the women’s 49kg division after beating Francisca Nelson of Indonesia in the finals.

Meanwhile, fellow jiu-jitsu experts Annie Ramirez and Kaila Napolis were able to secure silver medals in the women’s 62kg purple belt division and women’s 55kg division, respectively.

Previously, Ochoa and Ramirez won gold medals in the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Turkmenistan last September, 2017.

The two Filipina Martial Artists are also set to participate in the the 2018 Abu Dhabu World Professional Jiu Jutsu Championship in April, theEuropean Jiujitsu Championships, and the Thailand Open in June, and in the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia that will start in August.
