Father of TNT’sTroy Rosario clarifies son’s eligibility to join Gilas Pilipinas’ upcoming games

Talk N’ Text Katropa forward Troy Rosario is capable of joining the Philippine National Men’s Basketball Team in their upcoming games against Australia and Japan.

The said news was confirmed by Troy’s father, Primicias Rosario.

During an interview with DZRH Gary Libunao, Primicias insisted that his son did not suffer any major injuries after landing on his chin during the game between Katropa and Phoenix Fuel Master last February 7 at the Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay City

The father of the PBA star said that no fracture was found during the x-ray examination but the wound on his chin received six stitches.

However, Troy was not included in the line-up revealed by Gilas Pilipinas coach Chot Reyes for the second round of the 2019 FIBA World Cup qualifiers.

Based on the twitter post of Reyes, Troy was not given a medical clearance for the upcoming games.

Included in the revealed line-up against Australia and Japan are Jason Castro, Kiefer Ravena, Kevin Alas, Jio Jalalon, RR Pogoy, Matthew Wright, Allein Maliksi, Gabe Norwood, Carl Bryan Cruz, June Mar Fajardo, Japeth Aguilar and Andray Blatche.

Suprisingly included in the list are Calvin Abueva, who was previously removed from consideration due to being absent in the first three practices of Gilas for their next games.

Completing the list is Abu Tratter, who was next included in the Gilas player pool but has attended the team’s pratice since being considered for the team’s line-up on 2023 FIBA World Cup.

On Monday, Gilas Pilipinas is set to fly to Australia for their game against the country’s home-team on February 22.

After the game, the national team will immediately fly back to the Philippines in order to host a game against Japan on Feb. 25.
