Fake “goodbye video” of the late Robin Williams goes viral

Actor Williams pays tribute to actor Damon during 24th American Cinematheque Award benefit gala in Beverly Hills

Internet experts warned netizens to be wary of the fake goodbye video of the late Hollywood actor Robin Williams.

According to the Security Vendor Symantex, the video scam targets Facebook users wherein they send them the link to a fake BBC website.

Symantex Security response manager Satnam Narang insisted that Williams didn’t create any goodbye video.

Just like other social media scams, whoever clicks on the said link needs to answer to whichever webpage pops up before being able to watch the alleged video.

It particularly orders the end user to share the said video on Facebook and other social networking site.  The said video went viral two days after news broke out that the actor died from apparent suicide.
