Expect warm and humid week—PAGASA

It would be a warm and humid first week of March even with the summer season still not close, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Sunday.

In the next few days, the country will experience hot and humid air due from the Pacific Ocean, PAGASA weather division chief Robert Sawi said.

However, Sawi said it does not mark the start of the summer season. PAGASA declared the onset of summer last year on March 18.

“We expect temperatures to increase gradually, and anytime now or in the next two weeks we may declare the start of summer,” Sawi said.

Once the easterlies become the dominant weather system in the country, thus it would be the start of the summer season, the state weather bureau said.

Still, cold mornings are still being experienced by Luzon and the Visayas.
