Former Senator Leticia Ramos-Shahani, younger sister of Former President Fidel Ramos, passed away earlier today, March 20, 2017, at the age of 87.
The writer breathed her last pass 2:00AM. This was confirmed by her daughter Lila Ramos Shahani, Philippine Comission Secretary General of United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization, in her Facebook post.
The elder Shahani was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of St Luke’s Hospital, Taguig City due to her Stage 4 Colon Cancer.
The wake of the former Foreign Affairs Secretary will be at Funeraria Paz, Manila Memorial Park, and will be open to the public from 10:00AM until 12:00 midnight.
March 23, Thursday, the remains of ex-Sen. Shahani will be brought to the Senate. March 24, Friday, it will be brought to the Department of Foreign Affairs. Later that night, the remains will be brought to Cosmopolitan Church, Taft Avenue.
Ex-Sen. Leticia Ramos-Shahani also served as United Nations Secretary General for Social Development and Humanitarian Affairs, and also was once appointed as Philippine ambassador to Australia, Romania, Hungary and West Germany.
