Former President Benigno Aquino III on Thursday admitted that he has no prior knowledge of the cases against the French pharmaceutical company, Sanofi Pasteur.
During the joint Senate inquiry on the dengue vaccine Dengvaxia, blue ribbon committee chairman Richard Gordon asked Aquino if he was aware of the former charges filed against Sanofi by other foreign nations.
According to Gordon, Sanofi is facing charges because of the birth defects it brought against countries like Kenya and Brazil after one of Sanofi’s medicines presented side effects.
Later on, the French parliament required the medical company to pay a large amount of money due to the medical defect caused by its medicine.
The manufacturer of Dengvaxia has faced complaints such as bribery, false claims, and so on.
According to Aquino, he cannot remember the details of the meeting he had with Safoni back in 2015 due to the fact that he attended some seven gatherings before tending to the pharmaceutical company.
