El Niῆo is feared to hit the country on the third quarter of 2017.
Ana Lisa Solis, OIC for Climate Monitoring and Prediction Center of Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced the said projection.
Solis, said there is a 60 percent chance that El Niῆo may be experienced in the mentioned quarter.
However, El Niῆo might turned weak which possibly may develop in July, August until September.
The said phenomenon refers to unusual heat or temperature under Pacific Ocean, that usually the cause of severe drought to affected countries.
