DZRH’s Operation Tulong recently celebrated its 38th year of giving public service by awarding its volunteers for their hard-work and dedication.
During Operation Tulong’s 38th Anniversary Celebration last Jan. 28 at the Elizalde Hall of Aliw Theater, Pasay City, more than 530 OT members attended the event, wherein various recognitions, performances, and gifts awaited them.
Among the awards given were for the most active members, best reporters, best assistant team leader, and best team leaders of the Operation Tulong.
Also recognized were 79 members who already gave more than 10 years of service, 15 of which devoted at least 30 years of their life in order to help the public.
Also honored were six members who were given posthumous awards.
The Operation Tulong volunteers also receives, which included sacks of rice, groceries, and even a refrigerator.
The celebration also served as an oath-taking for new volunteers who sought to help various people in the Philippines under the banner of the Operation Tulong.
Also attending the celebration were various partners of the Operationg including Rotary Club Presidents Imelda Magsino, Engr. Angel Castro, Kon Constantino, Edna Dela Cruz, Rommel Viterbo, Col. Marilou Aboloc, Prof. Rene Canlas, Dugong Alay Dugtong Buhay Founder pres. Napoleon Marilag, and Donors Sofronio Abaco, Engr. Efren Benigno, Cesar De Vera, and Joseph Sy and his family.
In their 38 years of providing service to indigent communities, Operation Tulong has establishd about 20 chapters all over the Philippines and, currently, has more than 800 volunteers.
Operation Tulong has already partned and organized various projects to both urban and rural areas, including medical missions, clean-up drives, blood donation campaigns, and tree-planting events.
The Operation Tulong volunteers also roves in the streets of their communities in order to deliver timely news and information to the Filipino public.
