Duterte to resurrect mandatory ROTC in schools

The Duterte administration will try to bring back the mandatory Reserve Officers Training Corps in the country.

The said plan was revealed during a symposium on the revitalization of the ROTC in Camp Aguinaldo, which was well attended by officials from the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police.

In an interview with Usec. Civil Veteran and Retiree Affairs Eduardo Del Rosario, President Rodrigo Duterte is determined to bring back the ROTC to instill in the minds of the youth discipline and the love for their country.

Usec. Del Rosario added that the current administration plans on implementing the mandatory ROTC under the senior high school program or those between 17-18 years of age.

Del Rosario said that the ROTC will be a big help in humanitarian response and disaster management in the country.
