The Department of Labor and Employment withdrew their moratorium in the deployment of Filipino workers to Qatar.
According to Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III, they consulted the Department of Foreign Affairs regarding this decision.
The withdrawal of the moratorium is also based on the recommendation of the Qatar Philippine Overseas Labor Office who has finished investigating the situation in the country, and has said that the region has returned to normal.
Labor attache David Des Dicang and the Philippine Embassy also requested the deployment of newly hired workers to Qatar, especially for Philippine School Doha, and Philippine International School – Qatar.
POLO also continues to coordinate with the authorities in Qatar in case of problems regarding the repatriation of the Overseas Filipino Works.
Currently, Migrant workers are staying in other overseas Filipino Resource center.
Meanwhile, the government of Qatar assured the safety of more than 240,000 affected Filipino in the foreign country.
