The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in the Philippines expects Germany to hire at least 1,000 Pinoy nurses in 2020.
DOLE Sec. Silvestre Bello III said that the Federal Republic of Germay preferred to hire additional Pinoy nurses to address its need for healthcare professionals under the Triple Win Project.
The Triple Win Project is a government-to-government hiring program administered by Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA).
“It has been six years since the Philippines and Germany started cooperation on the placement of our Pinoy nurses,” Bello said in a statement
“I am confident that for 2020, this partnership under the Triple Win Project will provide improved and streamlined application process, and more importantly, ensured protection to our nurses,” he added.
Based on data from the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, Bello said that a total of 903 Pinoy nurses have been deployed to Germany since 2019.
The nurses currently receive a monthly salary of €2,000 up to € 2,400 after recognition as a qualified nurse.
The Labor secretary added that the success of the Triple Win Project might open up other job opportunities to Filipinos since Germany is is eyeing to expand the project’s coverage to other sectors to meet their labor demand.
While the application period for vacancies in 2019 is already closed, Bello said that they will soon announce the the application period and process for 2020.
