DFA opens express lanes for OFWs

The Department of Foreign Affairs said that its satellite office in Robinsons Galleria will solely serve Overseas Foreign Workers who will be applying for passports.

Foreign Affairs Spokesman Asst. Sec. Charles Jose confirmed the said news following the opening of the courtesy lane sections in different offices of the DFA satellite office for OFWs.

The OFW applying for passport will only need to bring his job order and any document that will prove that he is indeed an OFW.

The DFA’s move to allocate exclusively the space in Robinsons Galleria for OFWs is to ease the process of applying passports, especially that the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration is just on the opposite side of the road.

Aside from this, OFWs won’t need to set an appointment and they could just be walk-in customers through the courtesy OFW lanes in the DFA’s satellite offices.

Magandang Araw! Ako po ay isang OFW for almost 19 years at may patunay na may JO na akong naghihintay…but unfortunately I was told to do an online appointment schedule which is quite impossible to get an early date, as I’m doing this comment the next availability is on October 2016!

  3. This is true! Had the same experience. When they informed me regarding the “Re-Entry Visa reqt., i replied that “Kaya nga po nagpaparenew ng passport since I too can be deployed to another project by my agency at any time (I work in the construction industry) and before sila mag-process ng working visa, need na at least 1 year valid ang passport. And to think that OFWs are considered modern day heroes. Tsk tsk.
