The Department of Education (DepEd) is encouraging qualified and highly- competent teachers, professionals and practitioners interested in teaching Senior High School (SHS) or Grades 11 and 12 starting school year 2015-2016.
DepEd, in a Senior High School Bulletin posted in its official website, announced the call for expressions of intent for SHS teaching positions for next school year.
“This call is addressed to qualified and highly-competent teachers, professionals, practitioners, and experts who are interested in teaching the core curriculum and/or applied and specialized subjects under the SHS tracks,” DepEd said.
DepEd officials said these means that professionals or practitioners such as accountants, nurses and journalists can apply for the SHS.
The SHS tracks include Core Curriculum – Language, Humanities, Communication (Media and Information Literacy), Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Philosophy, and Physical Education and Health; Applied Track subjects in the Academic Track and/or specialized subjects under the strands Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM) Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Humanities and Social Science (HUMSS) and General Academic (GA); Applied Track subjects in Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL), and/or specialized subjects under the strands Agri-Fishery Arts,Home Economics (HE), Information and Communications Technology (ICT), and Industrial Arts; Applied and specialized subjects Arts and Design; and Applied and specialized subjects Sports.
DepEd said that the salaries will range from P19,940 of Salary Grade 12 to P39,493 (SG 21).
The Department added that that “the purpose of this call is to have a preliminary pool.” Interested candidates are required to submit their formal application.
For aspiring applicants, a Philippine citizenship is required.
Earlier, Education Secretary Armin Luistro announced that the implementation of the SHS program will also require an additional 30,000 to 60,000 teachers for SY 2016-2017 and 2017-2018, respectively.
All interested individuals may submit their expression of intent to their local DepEd Schools Division Office (SDO) on or before October 30, 2015 along with following documents: Letter of Intent which shall indicate the following information (statement of purpose/expression of interest; Track(s)/Strand(s)/Subjects(s) applying for; preferred school(s), if any; CSC Form 212, Revised 2005 (Personal Data Sheet) in two (2) copies with the latest 2×2 ID picture; Certified photocopy of certificates of relevant specialized training, if any; Certified copy of Voter’s ID and/or any proof of residency; National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) clearance; Omnibus certification of authenticity and veracity of all documents submitted, signed by the applicant) – which are all mandatory requirements for all applicants.
Additional requirements for permanent full-time positions should also include Certified photocopy of Diploma on Bachelor’s degree; Certified photocopy of Transcript of Records with at least 15 units of specialization in relevant strand/specialized subject; Certified photocopy of Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) professional ID card/certificate of registration /license, if available; and Certified photocopy of ratings obtained in the Licensure Examination for teachers(LET)/Professional Board Examination for Teachers (PBET), if available.
