DepEd considers annual drug test for teachers, students


The Department of Education (DepEd) has expressed that they are seriously considering the proposed annual drug test for teachers and some students as part of their cooperation in the anti-illegal drug campaign of the Duterte administration.

DepEd Sec. Leonor Briones made the statement during the deliberation of  the Senate Finance Sub-Committee on the proposed Php566 billion budget for 2017.

Aside from this, Briones said that they are looking into the including the issue of illegal drugs in the fourth grade curriculum for Science and Health.

Currently, there are 722, 000 teachers and 25 million students in the country.
