Members of the House of Congress have junked the proposed compulsory HIV tests for homosexuals.
According to Quezon City Representative Winston Castelo, the said proposition is against human rights because it is a form of discrimination.
The solon contradicted the said plan of the Department of Health, who even stated that this process could be its only solution in the ballooning number of HIV cases in the country.
According to the DOH, most of the HIV victims are males having sex with the same sex.
Critics are stating that the reason why there’s a continuous increase in the number of people getting infected by HIV is the weak campaign of the government against the said disease.
