The Philippine National Men’s Football team remains winless in the 2019 Asian Cup after losing to China, 3-0, at the Mohammed Bin Zayid Stadium in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on Friday, Jan. 11.
Wu Lei scored the first goal of China in the match at the 40th minute of the game. After 16 minutes, the Chinese winger doubled his team’s lead with another goal.
Fresh from the bench, Yu Dabao gave another goal for China in the 80th minute after his header caught the Philippine Azkals by surprise.
The Askals must now win their game against Kyrgyzstan on Wednesday, Jan. 16, at the Rashid Stadium in Dubai, United Arab Emirates so that the Philippines will have a chance to advance to the knockout stage.
China, meanwhile, will face South Korea on Wednesday at the Al Nahyan Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Both teams have already secured a spot in the knockout stage after winning their first two games.
