Cherie Gil bags lead role in PETA’s new play

Veteran actress Cherie Gil is flattered as she was chosen to play the lead role in the Philippine Educational Theater Association’s latest project.

Gil is PETA’s only choice for the role.  The actress will play Enriquetta Jardaleza-Sofronio, a person with Bipolar symptoms in the play “Arbol De Fuego.”

Meanwhile, local singers are elated that they will be performing in front of Pope Francis.

Erik Santos will sing the responsorial psalm on the Luneta mass on Sunday while Angeline Quinto and Jed Madela are slated to perform for the Pope at the University of Santo Tomas during the Encounter with the Youth.

Young singer Lyca Gairanod and Darren Espanto will sing the 1995 Manila World Youth Day theme “Tell the World of His Love”.  Lyca will perform it at the MOA Arena while Darren will take part in the event at the UST quadrangle.
