With a brilliant and innovative mind, Cesar Chavez always makes sure that DZRH is in the forefront of competition. More than aiming for a consistent upturn in audience and listenership, Cesar’s drive is to produce quality, award-winning pieces that stir public debate and social change. He continues to inspire inventiveness and social good in his people.
Apart from being a veteran, multi-awarded broadcaster and youth leader, Cesar has impressive and colorful credentials. He holds a doctorate in philosophy (Ph.D.) and won major awards from the Rotary Club of Manila, Philippine Jaycees, Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas, and the Catholic Mass Media Awards.He was also a multi-awarded student from high school to college.
In his professional life, he has the distinction of receiving presidential appointments from President Cory Aquino to President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. Cesar was also a recipient of the U-S President Ronald Reagan Youth Initiative Program under which he participated in various training seminars and lectures in ten colleges and universities in the United States in 1987. Recently, he served as the City Administrator of Caloocan and the President of the University of Caloocan.
Cesar was only a student when he started his career in the radio industry as part of DZRH. With his exceptional talent, diligence, and heart for broadcasting, from a mere newswriter and reporter, he became one of the high-ranking executives of DZRH. He was the former News Director of DZRH, and now he is the station’s current AVP for News and Public Affairs.
While leading his people to claim the number one spot, Cesar also broadcasts in his Saturday programs, Special On Saturday which airs at 7:30 am, and May Bagong Pag-asa co –anchored by Sen. Koko Pimentel at 8:30 am. Chavez is also the anchor of DZRH’s newest afternoon program, Metro Manila Ngayon, 5pm-6pm, Monday-Friday.
