The Commission on Appointments confirmed Gen. Rey Leonardo Guerrero as Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff.
According to the CA, Guerrero will be helpful as Chief of Staff due to his long military service.
It was only last October 26 that Guerrero was appointed to the said position, even if the military official is set to retire on December 17.
However, Defense Sec. Delfin Lorenzana said that he will recommend for President Rodrigo Duterte to extend the service of Guerrero.
Guerrero was a graduate of the Philippine Military Academy ‘Maharlika’ Class of 1984, and headed the Eastern Mindanao Command before being named AFP Chief.
