BLACKPINK makes history as first female K-pop act to perform in Coachella 2019

South Korean girl group BLACKPINK will be making history as the first-ever female K-pop group to perform in the upcoming Coachella 2019. The announcement was made on Thursday, January 4 with the official release of the 2019’s music festival lineup, which features headliners such as Ariana Grande, Childish Gambino, and Tame Impala.

The annual 3-day music festival held in Indo, California will be BLACKPINK’s official debut in the U.S. This year, Coachella will take place on April 12-14 and 19-21

The four-member group will be performing on both Fridays across the two weekends. Aside from BLACKPINK, Korean indie band Hyukoh was also announced in the lineup.

Formed in 2016, the K-pop group — consisting of members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa — have achieved record-breaking success under the YG Entertainment.
