BJMP distributes condoms to QC jail inmates


Bureau of Jail Management Penology (BJMP) started distributing condoms to inmates in the Quezon City Jail three inmates tested were positive in Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).

BJMP Spokesperson Xavier Solda, said the distribution started last Friday.

The step made since the inmates cannot be forced to undergo HIV test based on the Republic Act 8504 or Philippine AIDS Prevention and Control Act of 1998 that prohibits compulsory HIV testing.

It can be recalled that the number of HIV patients in the country continue to increase.
