The Bangsamoro Basic Law is expected to be submitted to President Benigno Aquino III this afternoon.

According to Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte, the draft of the basic law will be submitted by MILF Chief negotiator Mohagher Iqbal and GPH panel Chief negotiator Miriam Coronel-Ferrer at the office of the Executive Secretary and will be accepted by Usec. Michael Frederick Musngi.

Valte said that the legal minds of the administration will study the draft of the basic law and will then be submitted in Congress after being certified as urgent by PNOY.

Meanwhile, Valte insisted that Malacanang is confident that the basic law will make it pass the legal obstacles in case some groups might question it at the Supreme Court.

The Transition Commission failed to submit the basic law in Malacanang on March 31 because it wasn’t finished then.
