Long-time Philippine Azkals goalkeeper Roland Muller has said goodbye to the Philippine National Football team on March 22. The 29 year-old goalkeeper said that he is retiring in order to put more focus on his family.

Muller will still continue to play for the Filipino Football local team Ceres Negros at the 2017 Asia Football Confederation Cup. Muller started playing for the Azkals since the 2011 Southeast Asian Games Under-23 Tournament.

Meanwhile, the recent friendly match between the Azkals and the Malaysian National football team ended in a draw.

The said game marked the return of goalkeeper Neil Etheridge to the Philippine National football team. Etheridge was absent in Azkal’s line-up last year due to playing for English Football Club Walsal.

In the game that happened at the Rizal Memorial Stadium this March 22, both teams were unable to score a goal. The friendly match was in preparation for the 2019 Asian Football Confederation Cup.
