The two female police officers have been freed after being held captive by the Abu Sayyaf Group in Sulu.
Police Chief Dir. Gen. Oscar Albayalde made the confirmation after receiving reports from his officials in the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao Police Office.
Albayalde said that two female cops are now under the custody of Sulu Gov. Abdu Toto Sakur Tan II. They will be turned over to officials of the Sulu Provincial Police Office.
PO2 Benie Rose Alvarez and PO1 Dinah Humawad are in good health. They were immediately subjected to a medical examination.
Albayalde insisted that the negotiation spearheaded by Gov. Tan played a big role in the release of the two female cops.
