Is President Benigno Aquino III skipping Tacloban City when he visits Eastern Visayas on Friday as the nation marks the day super typhoon Yolanda devastated the country last year?

Reports said Aquino would visit Guiuan in Eastern Samar, where Yolanda made its first landfall, on Friday(November 7) morning but no other information was revealed.

Aquino will return to Manila on Friday afternoon.

Yolanda was the strongest typhoon to ever made landfall in the country as it claimed thousands of lives and left thousands more homeless.

Hundreds of residents of Guiuan died during the wrath of Yolanda while 2,000 perished in Tacloban.

Tacloban residents criticized the Aquino administration for the slow government response in the aftermath of the typhoon.
