Anti-corrupt group slams MTC judge for alleged involvement in anomalous court decisions

An Anti-corruption group fired back at a Marikina judge for his alleged involvement with the RII Builders, owned by Reghis Romero.

Perfecto Tagalog, president of the Coalition for Justice has criticized Judge Felix Reyes of the Regional Trial Court of Marikina for allegedly being Romero’s conduit with his cases.

According to Tagalog, they are “outraged” regarding reports that Judge Reyes is being used by the group of Romero to gain favorable decisions in court with their different cases.

Tagalog added that if there’s truth to this, then the justice system of the country is being trampled.

The President of the said group said that Reyes is one of the many judges that they are monitoring for their alleged involvement in several decisions from high profile cases.

“Almost eveyr month as may inilalabas kami ng pangalan and most of these judges surprisingly and coincidentally were involved in the cases filed by Mr. Reghis Romero.”

Incidentally, Reyes has been a subject of investigation by the Supreme Court, National Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Justice regarding the much-talked about election of the Philippine Judges Association some two years ago.

Reyes run in the said election, competing against Judge Ralph Lee of RTC branch 83 of Quezon City and Manila RTC Judge Rommel Baybay.  Lee won in the said election.

However, there have been reports that the election was rigged as controversial fixer, “Ma’am Arlene” allegedly bribed some judges and justices.

“Ma’am Arlene” is the court’s equivalent to PDAF mastermind Janet Lim-Napoles.

The DOJ stepped in to investigate the said issue after learning that some of the candidates were using dirty tactics to win the said election.    (with DZRH Florante Rosales)
