6’11 Naturalized Player Andray Blatche will be returning in the line-up of the Philippine National Men’s Basketball Team.
Gilas Pilipinas Coach Chot Reyes confirmed that Blatche is scheduled to arrive in the Philippines this November 12. The former NBA player will be joining the training camp of Gilas in preparation for their first games in the Asia qualifiers of the 2019 FIBA World Cup.
Blatche last played for Gilas during the 2017 South East Asian Basketball Association Championships last May. He was tapped to play at the FIBA Asia Cup in Lebanon but pulled out and was replaced by Fil-German Christian Standhardinger.
Meanwhile, Jio Jalalon is removed from the Gilas pool due to an LCL injury.
Gilas will be facing Japan first on November 24 and then the national team will be facing Taipei on November 27.
