All set for 2-day fish holiday

The two-day fish holiday has been set as a protest of fishermen against the new law that allegedly will prohibit and slowly kill the industry of fishing in the country.

The said two-day fish holiday is not only happening in the National Capital Region but also in some parts of the Visayas and Mindanao regions.

The fish holiday, which will start today until tomorrow, September 23, is in protest of Republic Act 10654, or the Amended Fisheries Code of 1998.

A fish holiday will mean that operators and fish dealers will not be providing fish supplies to major markets.

Coinciding with the said fish holiday, thousands of fishermen are set to march to Plaza Dilaw, and continue outside the Senate building.  (with DZRH Cyrille Cupino)
