The whole province of Albay has been placed under a State of Calamity amid the continuous rise in Dengue cases.
The Albay Provincial Council ratified the resolution declaring the whole province under a state of calamity after it was recommended by the provincial Health office.
As of August 7, Albay already registered 12 deaths and almost three thousand Dengue victims; seven times higher than that of last year.
According to Albay Provincial Health Officer Dr. Antonio Ludovice Jr., residents of Daraga, Tiwi and Pioduran are greatly affected by the said virus.
Albay places third in all the provinces in the Bicol region with the highest number of Dengue victims.
