Alab Pilipinas continues their winning streak in the ASEAN Basketball League after fending off Mono Vampires with a score of 86-84.
During the game at Baliuag Star Arena in Bulacan on February 7, Renaldo Balkman contributed 31 points and 13 rebounds to lead the home team to their sixth straight victory.
While on the side of the Thai basketball team, world import Samuel Deguara registered 21 points, and Mike Singletary scored 19 points to lead the charge of the visiting team, which tasted its fifth defeat in 14 games.
Alab was able to widen the score gap to 33-20 in the second quarter, but the Vampires held on in order to grab a 2-point lead before the start of the third quarter.
The game reached its climax when the score tied 84-all with 19 seconds left in the game.
Balkman gave the final two points that allowed Alab to regain the lead in the last 4 seconds, but it was Brownlee blocking the three-point attempt of Singletary that secured the victory of the Philippine team.
Due to this win, Alab is now on third place in the tournament standing, after receiving nine wins and four losses in the seventh season of the ABL.
