Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) respects the plan of presumptive president Rodrigo Duterte to place retired generals in his Cabinet.
B/Gen. Restituto Padilla, AFP spokesperson said that it is the right of the president to appoint whoever he wants in his Cabinet.
According to the Duterte camp, they are considering some retired generals to possibly join the Duterte administration. The list includes former AFP Chief of Staff ret. Gen. Hermogenes Esperon and Dionisio Santiago.
The above mentioned generals expressed their support to Duterte and used to serve the Arroyo administration, particularly those who belonged in the Philippine Military Academy class 1976.
