The Armed Forces of the Philippines denied reports that junior officers are preparing a coup d’etat against the Duterte Administration.
Colonel Edgard Arevalo, chief of the AFP – Public Affairs Office, said that they have not received any information regarding military groups that are planning to rebel against the government.
However, a junior officer did express his complaints and thoughts regarding the current Administration through social media. According to Col. Arevalo, this is not a coup plot by a military personnel.
Col. Arevalo further added that the AFP remains professional and is now focused in fighting off the rebellion Marawi City, Lanao Del Sur.
“Wala tayong nakikitang isang attempt or recruitment for kudeta. Sa ngayon ay mataas ang morale ng ating mga sundalo. Ang ating mga kawal ay nakatutok sa ating mga operation, lalong-lalo na sa nangyayaring rebellion sa Marawi, kung saan tayo ay naka-deal na ng significant headway.” Col. Arevalo said during an interview with DZRH.
