The Manila Police District (MPD) has four persons of interest on the murder of Helen Dacanay, a senior official of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on Monday, Nov. 4, in Malate, Manila.
MPD presented on Thursday, Nov. 7, a closed circuit television video (CCTV) and screenshots of the four individuals allegedly involved in the death of Dacanay.
MPD Director PBGen. Bernabe Balba said that the two gunmen who were seen wearing a blue bull cup, the pointer wearing a red polo shirt, and the driver of a getaway motorcycle are currently the subjects of their follow-up operations.
National Capital Region Police Office Dir. PBGen. Debold Sinas said that they have yet to determine the identities of the four persons of interest and the motive behind the murder of Dacanay.
“We’re after now the identities first of the shooters. Kasi usually kapag nakuha natin yung shooters, they might reveal something kung sino yung nag-hire or nag-utos sa kanila na barilin yung victim,” Sinas told reporters.
“Habang wala pang linaw kung ano yung at kung sino yung nag-utos, we focus more to identify the persons of interest,” the NCRPO chief added.
Balba also said that Dacanay did not receive any death threats prior her death.
